Nio Introduces ES6 in China with Multiple Battery Options

Nio, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled the ES6 model in China, offering customers a range of battery configurations to choose from. The ES6 comes with three battery options, with two of them being immediately available. The first option is equipped with a 75kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 490 kilometers. The second option features a more powerful 100kWh battery, allowing for a range of up to 625 kilometers.

Additionally, Nio plans to launch a groundbreaking semi-solid state battery with a capacity of 150kWh in July. This advanced battery technology is expected to deliver an impressive range of 930 kilometers.

Buyers can opt for the standard ES6 model with a built-in battery or choose Nio’s innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) battery-swap program, which offers a lower initial price. The base price for the ES6 starts at CNY 368,000 (€44,450, $52,000, converted) for the 75kWh variant, while the 100kWh option is priced at CNY 426,000 (€56,000, $60,400, converted). However, both configurations are available at a reduced upfront cost of CNY 298,000 (€39,200, $42,200, converted), with an additional monthly fee of either CNY 980 or CNY 1,680.

Featuring a powerful 400kW all-wheel-drive drivetrain, the Nio ES6 offers impressive performance capabilities. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.5 seconds. Furthermore, Nio’s own 4-piston calipers enable the vehicle to come to a rapid stop, going from 100 kilometers per hour to a standstill in a mere 34.5 meters. The ES6 is equipped with Nio’s third-generation continuous damping control system, enhancing ride comfort and stability.

Notably, when the Nio ES6 is introduced to the European market, it will reportedly be named the EL6. This decision is a result of a legal victory by Audi over the use of the ES6 designation by Nio.

Nio continues to make significant strides in the electric vehicle industry, providing consumers with an array of battery options and impressive performance features in its ES6 model.
