Opel has unveiled an updated version of its popular electric hatchback, the Opel Corsa Electric. The new model features several improvements, including a refreshed design and enhanced range. While the exterior changes are relatively subtle, with new headlights, a bumper, and a grille, the interior receives significant updates.
One of the major highlights is the introduction of a fully digital cockpit experience powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit. A new 10-inch display handles the infotainment system, offering improved graphics and user interface. The car also supports wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless phone chargers for added convenience.
The Corsa Electric now boasts advanced headlights with a 14-element LED matrix that provides adaptive and glare-free lighting. This technology ensures optimal visibility even in the darkest of nights.

However, the most significant improvement lies in the electric motor and battery. While the entry-level model retains the previous 136 horsepower motor, a new variant is introduced with a more powerful 156 horsepower motor. This higher-performance version also comes with a larger battery, resulting in an impressive WLTP-certified range of 402 kilometers. The 136 horsepower model offers a respectable range of 357 kilometers.
The new battery and motor are shared with the Peugeot e-208, offering improved charging capabilities. With support for up to 100 kW DC charging, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Opel has not yet announced the exact availability date for the new Corsa Electric, but it is expected to be released later this year. With Opel now part of the Stellantis group, the brand has access to a wider range of powertrain options and advanced technologies. This update to the Corsa Electric aims to continue the model’s longstanding success as Opel’s best-selling vehicle and maintain its position as the best-selling small car in Germany and the UK.
